Since we are building And-Co during the pandemic, we are in the unique position of being able to pre-emptively adapt the space in response to COVID-19 and ensure that members can feel safe and comfortable in their workspaces. Certain features planned prior to construction have also taken on a newfound level of importance, such as the interconnected stairway between levels, which provides a clear and open way to move between floors without having to use an elevator, and operable windows, which allow for the free flow of fresh air throughout the building.
We have created a detailed, comprehensive COVID-19 safety plan, which is being updated continually by a Yellow Cross–certified Manager. (You may request a copy of this plan by emailing [email protected])
To ensure a safe & healthy work environment for all And-Co members and staff, we are implementing extensive safety measures, including but not limited to the following:
- All spaces and surfaces (including high-touch areas like countertops, handrails and lounge furniture) will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis by professional cleaning staff. During business hours, regular cleaning and disinfection will occur every hour while a more thorough deep cleaning will take place every night, seven days a week.
- We have mandated daily screening questionnaires and temperature checks on entry. Entrants with fever will be refused entry.
- Meeting rooms will be available for use, but must be booked in advance. All meeting rooms will be thoroughly sanitized in between bookings.
- Signage will be placed throughout the facility to keep communication lines clear and prevent person-to-person contact, to minimize confusion and help everyone adapt to the environment.
All staff (from the office floors, to the restaurant and wellness studio) will be trained to accommodate the current conditions of our workplace. Our team will be available for you at any time during working hours to answer questions or concerns you may have.
Based on current BC guidelines, physical distancing must be observed by all occupants. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be worn by staff at all times, including (but not limited to) protective face masks. We will also have extra PPE available to those in need of such items.
If you intend to bring guests into the space, we will communicate our policies and procedures to them on your behalf to ensure they are prepared to visit, and abide by current standards.
Of course, we will be keeping a close eye on the evolving situation, and remain in contact with staff, members and guests as we navigate these changing circumstances together.
